This is a 90-minute "threat/response briefing" by two special session leaders: the head of the FBI's special business counterintelligence program, and a seasoned Fortune 500 company veteran VP and CSO. This session includes a question-and-answer period.
Due to the increasing threat of economic espionage to businesses of all sizes, the FBI has developed a program and strategies to help businesses better prepare for such attacks.
The FBI’s Counterintelligence Domain Program aims to help organizations identify and protect potential intelligence risks.
The program is already taking significant steps in helping to strengthen relationships between businesses and law enforcement to defend intellectual property from being left vulnerable to potential theft.

Thomas Mahlik currently serves as Chief of the Counterintelligence (CI) Strategy and Domain Section, CI Division, Headquarters, FBI. In this capacity, Mr. Mahlik is the lead designer of the FBI's Domain Program.
"This isn't about traditional spies anymore," Mahlik said. The engineer, student, or business partner are all potential threats and your business information is the target.

Lynn Mattice, Chairman, Board of Advisors, Security Executive Council (recently retired Vice President and CSO for Boston Scientific), presents response options that are appropriate for American businesses. "Being aware of the threat is the first step," said Mattice. "The second step is early response to the threat—as opposed to response solely after an incident, after critical information has been lost."

Mahlik will present the various threat pictures, and Mattice will present example business response options. Both will answer questions as part of the briefing session.
